Practice Your Poses! Fans Will Recreate Evita Balcony Scene at Segerstrom Center
Caroline Bowman in the national tour of 'Evita'
The Segerstrom Center will host pre-show activities before 'Evita.'

Evita fans will get the chance to recreate the show’s famous balcony pose when the national tour comes to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts beginning December 10. During a special pre-show reception in the lobby, patrons will be able to model like Eva Peron for a photo opportunity. Belting the show’s anthem “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” isn’t required, but won’t be discouraged.

In line with the inspirational message of the show, which chronicles the rise and fall of Argentina’s First Lady, the arts center will invite attendees to contribute to a “dream wall” in the lobby with postings of their hopes and goals. A screen and stage exhibit will also be on display, featuring historical aspects of the musical, materials from the 1996 film and exclusive Broadway.com video features with the cast.

Based on the life of Peron, Evita features a sweeping score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, which includes the classic songs “Buenos Aires,” “High Flying Adored” and “You Must Love Me.” The Tony-nominated revival, which will play Costa Mesa through December 22, stars Caroline Bowman as Eva, Josh Young as Che, Sean MacLaughlin as Juan Peron, Christopher Johnstone as Magaldi and Krystina Alabado as the Mistress.

HOLIDAY HOURS: The Subscriber Service Center will be closed Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th for the US Thanksgiving Holiday. We will re-open Monday, December 1st at 9am. HAPPY HOLIDAY!
